- Murasaki Hall -
In Commemoration of the 110th Year of Murasaki Gakuen Educational Foundation |
 |
Music Building and Murasaki Hall |
This majestic hall, which opened in July 2000, has a stage measuring 21
by 12 meters, a seating capacity of 1,314 and an area of over 6000 square
meters. However, what makes this hall so unique is that a specially constructed
canopy has been installed of which Tokushima Bunri University is the first
place in Japan and the fourth place in the world to have. This canopy enables
the best acoustics to be achieved depending on the type of orchestra, ensemble
or other musical presentation that uses this facility. |
 |
Pipe Organ |
This magnificent pipe organ which is 3.5 meters wide and almost 6 meters
high offers sound comparable to that heard in churches throughout Europe.
It is the first organ to be built in Tokushima and was constructed by the
German Pipe Organ Company, Paschien Kiel. The wonderful acoustics and music
that this instruments produces can be heard and enjoyed everyday at 2:50pm.
In fact, the beautiful foyer in which the organ is located is large enough
to hold 450 people and can be used as part of a concert or class. |
